Leaked renders show that the OnePlus 13R will be available in two attractive color variants: Nebula Noir and Astral Trail. Nebula Noir presents an elegant dark shade, while Astral Trail offers a lighter, perhaps golden tone. Both variants have a matte surface, which should minimize fingerprints and increase the aesthetic impression of the device.

The OnePlus 13R will have a flat display protected by Gorilla Glass 7i on both the front and back, which ensures increased resistance to scratches and drops. The frame of the device is made of aluminum which adds to the premium feel while keeping the weight low. With a thickness of only 8 mm, the OnePlus 13R ranks among slim smartphones, which increases comfort when holding and using.

Display and imaging capabilities

The device will be equipped with a flat display, which is increasingly popular among users due to the absence of image distortion at the edges and better compatibility with protective glasses. Although the exact display specifications have not been officially confirmed, it is expected to use a high-resolution AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, which will ensure smooth and sharp images suitable for multimedia content and gaming.

The OnePlus 13R will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor that offers superior performance for demanding applications and games. Combined with 12GB or 16GB of RAM and storage of 256GB, 512GB or up to 1TB, the device will be able to handle multitasking and store large amounts of data without the need for external storage.

The OnePlus 13R will feature a triple rear camera setup that includes a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilization for sharp and steady photos, an 8MP ultra-wide lens for capturing wider scenes, and a 2MP macro lens for close-up shots. The front 16MP camera ensures quality selfies and video calls.

The device will be equipped with a 6 mAh battery, which should provide enough endurance for all-day use even during demanding activities. Fast charging support will allow for quick power replenishment, although the exact data on the charging speed has not yet been released.

Software and user interface

The OnePlus 13R will run on the latest version of OxygenOS, built on top of Android 14. OxygenOS is known for its clean and fast user interface with minimal bloatware, ensuring a smooth and responsive user experience.

The OnePlus 13R is scheduled to be officially unveiled on January 7, 2025 during the global launch of the OnePlus 13 series. The device is expected to be available in key markets shortly after that date. Although the price has not yet been officially announced, it is expected to compete with other mid-to-high-end devices, which could mean a price tag of around 700 euros, similar to the previous model OnePlus 12R.

The OnePlus 13R promises to be an attractive addition to the company's portfolio, offering a modern design, powerful hardware and quality workmanship. With availability in two elegant color variants and competitive specifications, it has the potential to appeal to a wide range of users looking for a balanced smartphone with premium features at a reasonable price.
