Afeela 1 features an elegant design with short overhangs and a long wheelbase, reminiscent of a combination of Tesla and Lucid Air cars. The interior features full-width dashboard displays that provide information and entertainment for all passengers. The Signature version is equipped with 21-inch wheels, a rear entertainment system and a central display camera monitoring system.

Advanced technologies and assistants

The car is equipped with the Afeela Intelligent Drive system, which provides level 2+ assistance functions and uses more than 40 sensors including cameras, LiDAR, radar and ultrasonic sensors to monitor the vehicle's surroundings. In addition, there is an interactive personal assistant powered by artificial intelligence that enables voice control of various car functions and provides suggestions for a more comfortable journey.

Sony Honda Mobility has announced a collaboration with Dolby Laboratories, thanks to which the in-car audio system will support Dolby Atmos technology. This ensures a superior audio experience for all passengers. In addition, the interior of the car uses high-quality materials, some of which are of plant origin or recycled, which underlines the ecological approach of the manufacturers.

Afeela 1 is designed with an emphasis on unity between driver and vehicle, which ensures agile and stable handling. The 3D Motion Management system integrates engine, brake and suspension control for optimal driving comfort on various surfaces. Thanks to all-wheel drive and advanced technologies, the car offers a high-quality driving experience for all passengers.

The car's interior uses materials partially made from plant-based and recycled sources, with around 70% of the interior surfaces being made from these materials. Recycled materials are used not only in the steel body parts, but also in the chassis, underscoring Sony and Honda's commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.

Availability and market

Pre-orders are currently open exclusively to California residents with a $200 refundable deposit. It is not yet clear when the Afeela 1 will be available in other US states or international markets. The Signature version is expected to ship in 2026, while the Origin version will follow in 2027.

The Afeela 1 represents Sony and Honda's ambitious entry into the world of luxury electric cars. By combining technological innovation and automotive engineering, they are trying to offer a competitive product in the rapidly growing electric car market, where they will compete with established brands such as Tesla or Lucid Motors.
